Brownies

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces unsweetened
  • Chocolate (2 squares)
  • ½ cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ¾ cup flour
  • ½ tsp. baking powder ½ tsp. salt ½ cup chopped nuts

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Grease a square pan.
  2. Melt chocolate and shortening in hot water.
  3. Beat in eggs and sugar.
  4. Blend flour. Baking powder and salt.
  5. Add nuts; mix well.
  6. Spread mixture in pan.
  7.  In oven preheated at 350”F, bake for 30-35 minutes or until your finger leaves a slight imprint on the cake.
  8.  Cool slightly and cut into squares.
  9. If desired, add chocolate frosting
