Brownies

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces unsweetened
  • Chocolate (2 squares)
  • ½ cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ¾ cup flour
  • ½ tsp. baking powder ½ tsp. salt ½ cup chopped nuts

Procedure:

1)      Grease a square pan.

2)      Melt chocolate and shortening in hot water.

3)      Beat in eggs and sugar.

4)      Blend flour. Baking powder and salt.

5)      Add nuts; mix well.

6)      Spread mixture in pan.

7)      In oven preheated at 350”F, bake for 30-35 minutes or until your finger leaves a slight imprint on the cake.

8)      Cool slightly and cut into squares.

9)      9 If desired, add chocolate frosting
