A recent study in the journal Hepatology claims that liver injury due to supplements and herbs is on the rise. There are herbal remedies with “proprietary formulas’, so they do not disclose their ingredients. Be wary of these supplements as you do not know what they contain.
Avoid oral hormones:
Anabolic steroids taken for bodybuilding, birth control pills, and drugs such as Premarin taken for menopause may also damage the liver.
