No-bake dessert Filipino dessert recipes have become really popular these days and have become quite a hit online. I’ve done a lot of no-bake recipes before but this is the first time doing this particular one. So we’re going to dive right into today’s recipe, a no-bake Crema de Fruta recipe.
Crema de fruta is traditionally an elaborate sponge cake that uses gelatin, whipped cream, and tropical fruits and it’s one of the few original Filipino cake recipes. Ovens aren’t a popular fixture in Filipino kitchens so if you want to get a crema de fruta cake, you most likely have to purchase one from a bakery.
But with the popularity of no-bake recipes like the one we have today, more and more Filipino households are able to make their Filipino cake recipes at home.
For this no-bake crema de fruta recipe, we’re only going to use four ingredients: a can of fruit cocktail, a small pack of Nestle cream, and a pack of graham crackers which we’re going to use crush and use its crumbs as well as the whole crackers. There are only three ingredients in this recipe, come to think of it.
I think of crema de frutas as a fun cake to have for dessert mainly because of its colorful presentation and it’s also a reason why this Filipino sponge cake is such a popular fixture on the table for noche buena. But I’ve never had its no-bake version before.
This reinvention of the traditional crema de fruta sponge cake recipe is just as delicious as the original recipe. No-bake recipes are all commonly refrigerated to maintain its structure and it’s nicely cooled once it’s served.
So this no-bake crema de fruta recipe is the perfect merienda snack to beat the afternoon heat as well as the perfect dessert option for people craving something sweet. It also serves as a great palate cleanser after a flavorful meal consisting of Filipino dishes.
To get started on this no-bake crema de fruta recipe, we first need to prepare our ingredients. We need a medium-sized can of fruit cocktail drain its juice, pour the pack of Nestle cream in a bowl for easier access during the assembly process, do the same with the graham crackers in a separate bowl, and crush several of them in another bowl.
Assembling a no-bake cake recipe is pretty easy and the instructions are quite simple to follow as long as you have the patience for it. I recommend getting a little helper or your partner to help with the assembly.
The next thing to do is get a rectangular container and line it with three layers of the graham crackers. If you want a thicker crust, just add more graham crackers. Spread a layer of Nestle cream on top and a layer of the fruit cocktail.
Make sure that you have enough ingredients for multiple layers, especially the Nestle cream because it’s the main ingredient that will keep everything intact after it’s refrigerated.
Next step is to spread a thick layer of graham crackers on top of the cream and fruit cocktail layer, if you want a thicker and firmer middle for this no-bake crema de fruta, you can just use a whole graham cracker for the middle layers.
Continue to alternate the layers of graham crackers, Nestle cream, and fruit cocktail until the container is full. Just make sure that the very top layer is the fruit cocktail which you can dust with the crumbs of graham crackers.
Once the container is full, have the crema de fruta refrigerated overnight and serve while its still cool. Enjoy!

- 1 big can fruit cocktail
- 1 big can condensed milk
- 2 packs. of nestle cream
- 2 packs of graham crackers
- 1 pack graham powder
- In a clean bowl mix the nestle cream and condensed milk. Mix well
- Layer the graham crackers in a square bowl, add the fruit cocktail, pour the cream mixture and sprinkle with graham powder.
- Repeat the process in the 2nd and 3rd layer .
- For the last layer, top with more fruit cocktail, pour the cream mixture and sprinkle graham powder.
- Refrigerate for an hour.
