Ginataang Hito (Hito with Coconut Milk) Recipe


  • 2 medium-sized hito cleaned well and cut into smaller pieces.
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • ½ cup sliced onion
  • 4 cloves garlic chopped oil for sautéing.
  • Seasonings:
  • Salt to taste


  • In a frying pan, sauté garlic.
  • When garlic turns brown, add onion.
  • When onions are transparent, add coconut milk and allow to boil.
  • Add fish and salt, then cover the skillet.
  • Simmer until coconut milk becomes greasy.
