It was established in 1954 when Sherwood “Shakey” Johnson decided to open its first branch at a remodeled grocery store in Sacramento, California. And just like that, it’s been a hit!
In the Philippines, the first-ever Shakey’s store was founded in 1975. Since then, there have been a total of 189 other branches of Shakey’s nationwide! Potato Mojos Ala Shakey’s Recipe
Contrary to what it seems, this recipe is still very easy! All of the ingredients we’ll need can be found at the local grocery store or market. Oh, make sure to find fresh potatoes, all right? So, without further ado, let’s begin!
Firstly, we’ll only need a total of four (4) basic ingredients. The potatoes, evaporated milk, oil, and Crispy Fry breading mix! We’ll use Crispy Fry because it already has all the spices and flavors we’ll need for a deliciously-tasting Shakey’s Potato Mojos.
Of course, the quantity of potatoes you’ll buy entirely depends on you. If you’ll ask me, I think I’d buy as many as a bucket! Haha, just kidding, I really can’t get enough of these potato mojos. So, to start, we need to prepare all of the ingredients. Cut the potatoes into the typical Shakey’s Potato Mojos sizes. Then, simply dip them into evaporated milk for about one (1) minute.
Next, dredge the potatoes into a bowl full of the Crispy Fry breading mix, and then fry it directly on the frying pan with heated oil until it becomes golden brown. Once done, make sure to strain the excess oil by putting all of the cooked potato mojos on a strainer.
Finally, once all of the potato mojos are done cooking, plate them however you’d want, and voila! As easy as that, you can now enjoy the Shakey’s Potato Mojos at home!
Easy, right? No sweat at all! Of course, you’re always free to create your own dipping sauce. You can settle for ketchup and mayonnaise, but you can always level it up with honey mustard sauce, garlic butter sauce, ranch dressing, or garlic mayonnaise sauce!
