Non-Oven-Baked Egg Pie Recipe
What are you waiting for? Let’s do it! All the ingredients we need for our
Non-Oven-Baked Egg Pie Recipe can easily be bought at the nearest local market
or grocery store around your area. You also don’t have to worry because the
steps and procedures are very simple and easy to follow! This recipe is made to
be beginner-friendly, so I’m 100% sure that you’ll be able to do an amazing job!
Before we begin, the ingredients we’ll need are all-purpose flour, sugar,
salt, butter, cold water, milk powder, evaporated milk, vanilla, and of
course, eggs. Don’t forget to buy some vanilla because it’s a really important
ingredient that elevates the flavor of our egg pie.
Now that we’ve already got everything that we need, it’s time to start! First,
we’ll be dividing the procedures into two (2) major parts, making the Pie Crust
and the Egg Custard to avoid confusion. So, to make the egg pie crust, simply
combine all of the dry ingredients including all-purpose flour, sugar, and salt in a
clean mixing bowl. Add some butter then keep on mixing well until it is fully
incorporated with the ingredients. Then, gradually add some cold water while
kneading the mixture until you form a dough. After kneading for about five (5)
minutes, wrap the dough using a cling wrap and just let it rest for at least thirty
(30) minutes in the refrigerator.
After resting, divide the dough into four (4) equal parts. Then, prepare the
llaneras or molders by greasing the surface and corners using oil. After that,
simply flatten the dough into the shape of the llanera. You can use a fork to
properly mold the sides of the dough. Once you’ve finished doing that, set the
dough aside for another thirty (30) minutes while we’re preparing to make the
egg custard.
To make the egg custard, just combine all of the dry ingredients again such
as milk powder, sugar, and all-purpose flour. Then add the evaporated milk and
the eggs. Finally, don’t forget to add some vanilla to balance the flavors. Just keep
on mixing all of the ingredients together until they’re all well-combined.
Remember to strain the mixture to filter excess contents and to make the custard
as smooth and fine as possible. Next, prepare one beaten egg white and gently
fold it in the egg custard mixture. The egg white helps in stiffening the peaks of
the custard.
Finally, it’s time to combine the egg pie crust and the egg custard! Before
doing that, it’s best to preheat the pot first for ten (10) minutes at a low
temperature. Now, carefully pour the egg custard mixture into the llaneras with
the egg pie crusts. Just cook them in low heat for 30-45 minutes and you’re good
to go!
Well? Not too hard, right? Just like that, you’ve already made your own
version of the Non-Oven-Baked Egg Pie at home! I’m sure that everyone,
especially the kids, will love your newfound specialty. Serve it fresh from the pan,
warm, or chilled, it doesn’t matter! Egg pies are always the best.
