
Lechon pares, or pares as it is commonly known, is a meal that consist of Pork asado (pork stewed in a sweet-soy sauce), garlic fried rice and a bowl of pork broth soup. The soup may originate from the broth in which the meat is simmered in until tender before being seasoned with the sweet-soy sauce but it can also be prepared separately and be made with pork bouillon cubes instead.
Ingredients:
- Left over lechon
- Onion
- Garlic
- Ginger
- Star anise
- ½ cup Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp. Sugar
- ½ tsp. Salt and pepper
- Bay leaf
- Water or Pork stock
- 2 tbsp. Cornstarch
- oil
Procedures:
- Saute onion, garlic and ginger.
- Add the star anise and bayleaf then lechon.
- Seasoned with Sugar, Soy sauce salt and pepper.
- Stir well then add water or pork stock. Let it boil.
- Thickened with cornstarch.
- Serve with Rice or Garlic Rice.
