Nevertheless, the rest of the ingredients that we’ll be using for today can be easily bought from nearby grocery stores and sari-sari stores as well. And as for cooking procedures, I am confident that you’ll be able to follow them without any problem. So don’t worry! 

Before we start, the ingredients we’ll be using for today include salt, pepper, seasoning granules, vinegar, onion, garlic, green chili, pork fat, and of course, the main star of the show, Tulingan. The pork fat is equally an important part of the recipe because it brings a lot of flavor and texture into the dish, so make sure to add it! 

Alright, now that we’ve gathered everything that we need, it’s time to cook! The first thing that we should do is to thoroughly wash and clean the Tulingan so no foul and stinky smell comes out when we cook it. Remove all the excess dirt and the blood so that the fish cooks nice and tasty, okay? Now that the fish is ready, let’s start cooking! 

In a clean pan, combine the Tulingan fish, vinegar, garlic, onion, ginger, salt, pepper, seasoning powder, pork fat, and green chili. Once you’ve done that, simply mix all of the ingredients well and then cover the pan to cook it on high flame. When it comes to a boil, adjust it to medium heat and continue cooking for at least one (1) hour until the meat of the fish becomes soft and tender.

Sinaing Na Tulingan ala Batangas Style
  • 1 Kilo of Tulingan Fish
  • 1 cup of Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. Salt,
  • 1 tsp. Pepper
  • 1 tsp. Seasoning granules
  • 1 whole Garlic
  • 1 Big Onion
  • 100 grams of Ginger
  • 2 -3 pcs. Green Chilli
  • 1⁄4 kilo of Pork fat
  1. Wash and clean the fish very well. Make sure no more blood comes out from the fish before it cooks to reduce the stinky smell from the fish and make it flat.
  2. In a pan put together the sliced garlic, ginger, onion, tulingan fish, pork fat.salt, seasoning powder, vinegar, pepper and lastly the green chilli.
  3. Cover and cook into high flame.
  4. When it’s boiling put in medium heat and cook for 1 hour for best results.
  5. minutes before cooking time check the taste it is really good
  6. Served with white rice. Enjoy
